Karim's production on offense and special teams dropped in his second year after a promising rookie season. As reported, the Jaguars released Karim Friday, April 27. Huddle Up: Karim's got talent and could become a Maurice Morris-type journeyman if he stays healthy.Collapse -

Deji Karim is the primary backup there -- he'll see some work each week along with bigger backs Montell Owens and Brock Bolen.

He was seen on crutches earlier this week, but the team still declined comment. What they did Saturday spoke volumes.
Jennings has been placed on injured reserve, meaning his 2011 season is over. Jennings broke the news on Twitter.
"A Big Thx to all my Fans for the prays amp; support," Jennings wrote. "[The Jaguars] have decided to place me on IR this yr. I promise i'll return stronger." FANTASY ANALYSIS: There's been no confimation on what the injury is, but it's safe to assume that something like an ACL or patellar tendon is torn. This is a big loss for the Jags considering that Maurice Jones-Drew is coming off of major offseason knee surgery. Jennings was one of the most valuable handcuffs in fantasy, but with him now out of the picture, Jacksonville will have to turn to Deji Karim.
Karim is a sixth-round pick from the 2010 draft who is slated to be the team's lead kick returner. He's got similar size to MJD, but he's extremely raw. I bet the Jaguars will pick up a more experienced runner to serve as Jones-Drew's backup very soon.

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Rashad Jennings (knee) was placed on injured reserve. Huddle Up: The hints were there (crutches, Del Rio's silence) and now the handcuff for Maurice Jones-Drew is Deji Karim.

The Jaguars have told backup running back Rashad Jennings they will place him on injured reserve.
"A Big Thx to all my Fans for the prays & support. They have decided to place me on IR this yr. I promise i'll return stronger." Jennings said on Twitter. He played in 13 games and had three starts last season, rushing for a career high 459 yards with four touchdowns. (Florida Times-Union)
FF Today's Take: You knew something was wrong when the coaching staff refused to discuss the injury earlier in the week. Jacksonville will pay close attention to the running backs cut today and will certainly add a veteran for depth. Deji Karim is now the backup to Maurice Jones-Drew.Collapse -

It's unlikely he'll play in the preseason finale Thursday, Sept. 1. Huddle Up: Depending on how long Jennings is out, and how Maurice Jones-Drew looks in Thursday's preseason game, this could suddenly make Deji Karim a relevant fantasy name. At minimum keep an eye on Karim as the possible handcuff to MoJo if Jennings' knee injury is serious.Collapse -
These link to the industry's best IRs. These are the sites that Stegman goes to, in order, if/when he's obsessing about data on the status of an injury.
Rotoworld IR (most up to date – the Cadillac of NFL injury reports)
Rashad signed a rookie four-year deal worth $1.788 million back in July. Besides a $38,000 signing bonus, a fourth-year escalator is also available that could push his 2010 salary up to $1.3 million. Broken down:
Rashad Jennings used to be a fat and chubby kid without much in the way of motivation. He weighed 268 pounds and only ran a 4.67 40-yd dash coming– he was actually recruited as a defensive end coming out of high school. He was determined to be considered as a RB prospect and worked his way down to 231 pounds, and turned his 40 into a ripe time of 4.4 seconds. Back in high school, he set all sorts of Virginia state records as a tailback all the while also playing defensive end. This kid’s got some skeeeels…
2009 Fantasy Outlook
With the departure of Fred Taylor, Rashad seems to have a good line to becoming an RB of worth on the Jaguars, especially because of his size. Jones-Drew is obviously a smaller back and will probably need to take off a series or two from time to time to keep himself fresh, so that could be the opportunity Jennings needs to show the Jags brass what he’s made of. Being a rookie, it might take him some time to work himself into a regular rotation, so we wouldn’t draft him straight out of the gate. Keep an eye out for him as the season rolls along though as he has tremendous potential and could be a sleeper of sorts, especially if something happens to MJD.
FFArmory.com: Your Fantasy Football Ally!
We do two things:
1) Provide our own original content/analysis based on years of winning fantasy football leagues.
2) Aggregate the best sources of FF-related news/stats/information on the web and centralize this data at the player and team page level on our site.
Tenny Stegman (owner/founder) has been winning fantasy football leagues for over 12 years. He’s a self-professed know-it-all. Impressed? Nor was the rest of his staff, hence item #2.
The web has become one big quasi-annoying cluster @#$%. Anyone can start a google searchable blog and pretty much already has (including yours truly!).
The goal with FFArmory.com is to create one place that you can not only soak in Stegman’s genius fantasy mind (heh heh), but also find the most critical & relevant fantasy football data from sources all over the web.
We’re in this together. We encourage our users to participate as well. Are we missing a good resource? Let us know by either email, or making a permanent comment w/in the player or team profile (or anywhere on the site). With your help, we can turn FFA into the only destination required to dominate fantasy football leagues!
