Nate Washington signed as an undrafted free agent back in 2005 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. You'd be undrafted, too, if you had attended a little Division II college called Tiffin University. Nate was a slot WR on the Steelers and averaged 35 catches for 568 yards and four TDs over that time. Good numbers for the third options on a team that doesn't run the ball much.
He has good height at 6'1" but needs to bulk up his 185 pound frame. Despite his success in the limited opportunities in Pittsburgh, this stat concerns us a bit:

His per game numbers actually took a bit of a hit in games where he was the featured WR2. We would expect numbers to increase going up one on the food chain, but not so with Nate.
He steps into a promising situation in Tennessee as the current stable of WRs consists of Justin Gage and a rookie, Kenny Britt. Gage is weak and has embarrassing numbers over six years - especially in that he's been given opportunities along the way and just can't seize on any of them. Plus, the numbers they threw at Washington, $27 million with $9 million guaranteed, suggests that the Titans have big plans for Washington.
Washington has talent, but needs to bulk up and prove he is capable of handling "starter" reps if he is going to be depended on to start as a fantasy WR. Depending on Kenny Britt's development, Washington could be the only dependable target in '09.
Nate hasn’t missed a contest in three years.
