Wikipedia is the mother-ship of online content. By the people, for the people!
We like that “Bag of Bones” Bulger believes he and his weak noodle-arm can still play in this league. The numbers, though, suggest otherwise. First off, look at his missed games over his career. One season of 16 starts says it all. And he’s missed that many games (16) due to various injuries since he became a full-time starter back in 2003. Then there is the TD to INT ratio over the last two seasons, in those seasons he has thrown 22 TD in 27 games, with a completion rate under 60% to boot. Lookin’ good, Louis. We’re not sure what happened to this putz over the last two years, but his situation isn’t getting any better going forward. He can no longer perpetrate being a QB that commands a $65 million dollar contract.
With the departure of Holt this offseason, The Greatest Show on Turf is dead and gone, and looking more like The Latest Turd out of a Smurf. If that doesn’t have you laughing out loud, this for sure won’t. His starting WRs are now Donnie Avery (has some potential) and Keenan Burton. Keenan Burton? Sounds like a nightly performer at the Luxor on the Vegas Strip. Oh, wait, he’s a football player with 13 career catches. What the hell is going on in St. Louis? Back are the days where Ram fans have to wear a paper grocery bag over their heads. With really only one viable option at receiver, what prayer does Bulger have to be even drafted this season? He’s washed up, his receivers are young and lousy, and flat out, this team is the NFL’s equivalent to Amy Winehouse’s complexion.
His numbers in 2008 were terrible. He finished with 11 TDs on 13 INTs and 2,720 yards passing – and managed to play in 15 games. Nine of those games were for under 200 yards and he only threw for over one TD in one game. As with any marginal player, Bulger played his best against the teams from his division with poor defenses (Seattle, San Francisco, and Seattle).
Not a whole bunch… that’s your answer. He will still go toward the tail end of most drafts – especially to his owners from 2006 and earlier. Football is a weird sport, and more peculiar things have happened than a team like the Rams rising from the ashes to string together some offense. They do play indoors… The Rams would love to unload this guy and start the rebuilding process ASAP, but there won't be any takers for this sadsap. Expect the same poor play again from Bulger this year if he doesn't get injured or benched after even more ineffectiveness. To be honest, this guy could be cut if it helps the team’s bottom line. This guy is a weak backup fantasy QB in 2009.
Is sacked a ton and misses games consistently every year. He doesn’t come back well from injury, either.
