"The guy needed a bra, it was ridiculous. You come to the combine looking like that and you want to be a first-round pick? Come on. The guy had obviously been doing nothing." - This is a direct quote from an un-named NFL general manager. Great stuff.
Despite waddling his way into the NFL Combine and more or less refusing to do most of the drills that NFL scouts seem to base their entire reports on, White managed to be drafted early in the 2nd round of the 2006 NFL draft. He ran his first season behind the sperminator (Travis Henry), but was the featured guy in 2007 and put up rather ordinary numbers at 1,110 yards and seven TDs on 3.7 YPC.

There is no credible information regarding Lendale White's 40-yard dash, but we're guessing he is not among the top 20 RBs in the league...
White did rip off an 80 yard TD run - but are we counting TD runs against the Chiefs these days?
Lendale's second longest career TD is seven yards.
He has excellent vision approaching the line of scrimmage and has the patience to wait for holes to develop and also makes quick decisions; this makes him effective in short yardage and goal-line situations. With the emergence of Chris Johnson, though, his total touches went down by 118 from 2008, and his yards decreased by 27 per game... but his TDs more than doubled. The TDs are more a symptom of the Titans finding themselves on first and goal more than usual, and isn't something that should be counted on going forward.
The boisterous relationship of Jeff Fisher and Lendale White reminds us of Fred Sanford dealing with his nitwit son Lamont... "YA BIG DUMMY!"
Chris Johnson's touches figure to remain in the neighborhood of 300 again in 2009, and if the Titans are not able to mirror the 5th most rushing attempts like they did in 2008, White figures to be the one to suffer. Chris Johnson is just too talented and averaged a full yard more per carry than White. The Titans lost Albert Haynesworth, who was the centerpiece of that dominant defense and a big reason the Titans were leading so many games in 2008. White received 49% or 148 of the touches when the Titans were leading last season and only 28.6% or 57 of the touches when they played from behind. Chris Johnson is clearly the go-to guy when they are trying to score vs. nursing a lead.
We feel White can mirror the # of carries he had last year, and may even notch a few more receptions, but the TDs do not figure to approach 15 again. He could certainly exceed double digits, but with his yards sticking in the 800 range, that is good for only handcuff duty. Make this Pillsbury Dough Boy the 92nd RB off of draft boards this summer.
LenDale's first day at training camp...

LenDale has lost some major weight over the off-season in getting down to a trim 229 pounds. Considering that he's used to being a bruiser and barreling into guys, we're not sure how this will affect his play. At least he's healthy for the time being...
