These link to the industry's best IRs. These are the sites that Stegman goes to, in order, if/when he's obsessing about data on the status of an injury.
We've all seen Knowshown Moreno hurdle a defender and Sam Bradford go airborne trying to score a TD. But we'd like to 1-up, actually 2-up, both of those plays and present to you, for the first time ever (The Office anyone?) Jerome Simpson (yup nobody has heard of him before and now he will be famous. Jerome, we expect some sort of monetary compensation now). If you think Knowshown is cool, well just watch these:
Almost. The thing is, Simpson has more YouTube highlights than NFL receptions. Sure, he was a rookie in 2008, but he made one catch for two yards. We're not joking, that was his season's body of work. Yes, he was playing behind Chad Ochocinco, T.J. Who's-your-momma, and Chris Henry (when he wasn't in jail), but the Bengals really didn't give him a chance to play as he was inactive for 11 games. So, watch him jump over people and make ridiculous one-handed catches, and move on.
If you play in a league that gives points for hand size, make Simpson your 1st pick. The dude has huge hands. They measure 11 inches from thumb to pinkie - which was a 2008 combine-best. He could palm Calvin Borel.
But if you play in a fantasy football league, you may want to reconsider. He'll still play behind Ochocinco, offseason pickup Laveranues Coles, and Henry (provided he stays away from his one-room summer home). We're gonna go out on a limb here and say that his production should increase, but that's like saying Fox News is on TV, it still doesn't help anyone. Simpson spent the summer with Carson Palmer and Chris Henry working out and getting in sync. If it doesn't happen this year, it will eventually. He is a talented guy, and Palmer was oozing his praises numerous times in June and July. Simpson will get more touches, but his value, if any, is as a handcuff. We can't see drafting four WRs from the Bengals, even with Palmer, so let's leave this guy on the waiver wire for now.
Nothing to worry about here.
