Statue of Liberty

Schouman's claim to fame will most likely never be had in the NFL, but rather in college while playing for the Boise State Broncos.  In the 2007 Fiesta Bowl, the 12-0, non-BCS conference Broncos took the highly favored Oklahoma Sooners into overtime, which then concluded by giving on-lookers one of the finest endings college football has ever seen.  The Sooners looked as if they had finally had their fill of little Boise State as on the first play of overtime, Adrian Peterson (yes, THE Adrian Peterson) took the ball 25 yards into the end zone to put Oklahoma up seven.  On the ensuing drive, Boise State got the ball down to the Sooner 5-yard line, but was facing a 4th-and-2 situation.  The Broncos, with nothing to lose, decide to pull out a trick play.  After sending the QB in motion, they snap the ball to backup wide receiver Vinny Perretta, who was slotted as an RB, who then rolled to his right looking to run only to pull up and toss the ball to TE Derek Schouman in the end zone for a TD to pull within one point.  Anybody who knows college football has seen the end of this game, and it never fails to bring the chills:

2009 Fantasy Outlook

That's about as exciting as it gets for Schouman.  Though a decent receiver, he just hasn't been and probably won't be used much in the Bills offense either this year or in the future.  The Bills drafted Shawn Nelson from SMU in the'09 draft, and he figures to see as much activity as Schouman.
